The universal background setting can be used when high accuracy is not needed in the cosmic/non-cosmic
partitioning function. To specify a local background, select the Local Background radio button which will open
a file selection screen. The available files can be sorted by date on the file selection screen. The file naming
convention also includes the file creation date and time. Once the file is selected, the system will use data
from that file to accurately determine cosmic/non-cosmic fractions. The selected background file will be used
for both static search mode and advanced static search mode.
