6.3.2. Covers with eight threaded inserts
The following tools and equipment are required to correctly
handle the cover:

Top slings

Lifting beam (Modulift type or adjustable length)

Larger lifting beam shackle

Smaller lifting beam shackle

Slings or chains*
4
High-resistance M20 threaded eyebolts
5
Flat-head screwdriver
* Slings or chains, in accordance with the detailed study of the
handling process.

Equipment and tools required
Proceed as follows to handle the cover:
1.
Remove the eight plugs which cover the threaded
inserts of the cover using a flat-head screwdriver, and
keep them in a safe place.
2.
Thread the eight eyebolts in the inserts, throughout
their length.
3.
Make sure the tools shown in Figure 6.26 are available,
ensuring the larger shackle of the lifting beam is joined
to the top slings. The smaller shackle is attached to the
bottom sling. Hook the top slings on the crane hook.

4.
Hook the bottom chains or slings on the eye bolts.
5.
Lift the
pfu
cover using the crane.
When removing the cover, support it on wooden
boards. The boards can rest on horizontal ground or
the bed of a truck.

6.
Once handling is complete, release the eight hooks
from the bottom chains or slings, unscrew the eight
eyebolts and return the plugs removed in step 1.
