METERING

Metering is a setting that determines your
subject's correct exposure. The camera will
compute the brightness levels, contrast, and
amount of bright to dark parts in the scene
automatically.

ICONS

SETTINGS OPTIONS

Matrix

Evaluated by splitting the scene into multiple zones,

(multi-

then calculate each zone's exposure via the camera's

segment)

computations. Ideal for general picture-taking.

Central

Averages the exposure of the entire scene but

(Centre-

gives extra weight to the centre. Use for backlit

weighted)

subjects (default setting).

Spot

Only the small area at the centre of the screen
determines the exposure. Ideal for highlighting
the main subject.

ISO

The ISO setting affects the camera's sensitivity
to light.

NOTE:

An image taken at higher ISO speeds

may contain more "noise" or graininess than an
image taken at lower speeds.

SPEED DESCRIPTION

The camera sets the speed automatically (default setting)

ISO rating 50. Use for very brightly lit scenes

ISO rating 100. Use for brightly lit scenes

ISO rating 200. Use for normally lit scenes

EV (EXPOSURE COMPENSATION SETTING)

Exposure compensation is required when there
is an extreme difference in brightness between
the background and the subject. Use this setting
to manually brighten or darken an image.
Default setting is 0.0.

SHOOTING MOVIES

The Movie Mode enables you to take movies. The length of the movie
that can be taken depends on the amount of memory available within
your camera's current memory storage.
