Each partition must have it's own bridged drive
•
Each partition must have at least one magazine
•
Mailslot must be closed, locked, and empty before changing the partitioning
configuration

A bridged drive provides a single, unified control and data communication path
between the library/partition and the host using the SAS or FC drive interface.
Access the Partitioning Screen
Access the "Configure Library Partitioning" screen through the configuration wizard.
Pre-requisite: Tapes cannot be in the mailslot while configuring partitioning.

Select Configure Library Settings, and then click Next.

From the "Library Partitioning:" drop-down, select Partitioning On, and then click
Next.

If at any point you do not wish to proceed, click Previous or Cancel.
Create a New Partition
Create a partition to segregate library resources. Each partition appears as a separate
library to host applications
For each partition select a name, a bridged drive, and the label format.

Access the Partitioning Screen

Click Add Partition.

Enter the Partition Name.

Select a Bridged Drive from the list. Each partition must have a bridged drive.

Select a Volume Label Format from the list.
6.
Add additional partitions as necessary.
