System Service Required LEDs on the front panel and rear I/O module

Server SP LED on the main module and rear I/O module
1. Determine if the System Service Required LED is lit on the front panel or the rear
I/O module.
See “Interpreting LEDs” on page 29 .
2. Check the SP LED on the main module or the rear I/O module.
See “Front Panel Controls and LEDs” on page 31 or “Rear Panel Controls and
LEDs” on page 33 . The SP LED will be lit amber if the service processor card needs to be
replaced.
3. Remove the faulty service processor card.
See “Remove the Service Processor Card” on page 110 .

Remove the Service Processor Card
The service processor card is a cold-service component that can be replaced only after you have
removed the main module.
Caution -
This procedure requires that you handle components that are sensitive to electrostatic
discharge. This discharge can cause server components to fail.
1. Determine your first step:
a. If you cannot access the service processor card, go to Step 2 .
b.
If you can access the service processor card, back up the SP configuration
information.
