Install a Fan Module

Install a Fan Module

Installing a fan module is a cold-service operation. You must power off the server before

installing the fan module.

If not previously completed, perform the following:

Prepare for service.

See

“Preparing for Service” on page 43

Power off the server that contains the fan module.

See

“Removing Power From a Server” on page 49

Remove the server to obtain access to internal components.

See

“Accessing Internal Components” on page 55

Align the fan module to the location where it installs into the fan tray.

The green band is on the top of the fan module, and the arrow points to the rear of the server.

Lower the fan module into the fan tray.
