Maintenance Space Requirements
Requirement Specification
Clearance, rear of storage server: 91.4 cm (36 inches)
The minimum ceiling height for the cabinet is 230 cm (90 inches), measured from the true floor
or raised floor, whichever is higher. An additional 91.4 cm (36 inches) is for top clearance. The
space above the cabinet and its surroundings must not restrict the movement of cool air between
the air conditioner and the cabinet, or the movement of hot air coming out of the top of the
cabinet.
Maintenance Space Requirements
The maintenance area for the rackmounted Oracle Exadata Storage Server X6-2 High
Capacity must have the required access space. The following table lists the maintenance access
requirements for the storage server when it is installed in a rack.

Configuration Restrictions
There are restrictions for adding servers to the Oracle Exadata Database Machine. The
following sections describe the restrictions for flexible configurations:

Exadata Database Machine X6-2 Configuration Restrictions
The following restrictions apply to Exadata Database Machine X6-2 flexible configurations:
■
Up to 22 servers can be installed in the rack, within a total of 38 rack units.
■
At least three storage servers must be installed in the rack.
