Optoma EX 615 Projector Settings
These are the reference settings and connections for normal SCC operation. Updated Jan 2013 with
revised brightness & degamma settings – see associated post on web “Dicentra/Laptop/Optoma
settings, updated Nov 2012”.
Connections
There are 4 leads and a remote control which we keep in a plastic bag to make it easier to pull them
in and out of the tight-fitting Projector bag.

VGA lead
USB lead
Audio lead
Connect from the PC's
External VGA output
to EX615
VGA1 In
You will need to switch the PC's External VGA output on, probably by toggling one of the
Function Keys, perhaps using a Fn Shift key as well. On my Acer 3610 Laptop, use Fn + F5
keys to toggle between laptop only,
laptop & projector
, and projector only.
Optionally connect the
EX615 sub-min USB socket
to a standard size PC USB socket
This enables the Projector Remote Control to operate the PC's next/last slide function,
simulating the laptop's Page Up/Down and Arrow Left/Right keys. It does not work on
every software programme.
Optionally connect the Audio Lead from the PC sound output to the
Projector VGA1 Audio 1 In
Remember there are volume controls on both the PC and the Projector. The Projector
setting can be accessed via the menu system or the remote control volume button. There is
also a mute button on the remote control.
To turn the projector off, press the Power Button twice. The first time brings up a box at the bottom
right of the screen asking “Turn Off? Do not turn the projector back on immediately after turning
off. You need to avoid turning the projector off inadvertently by pressing the Power button on the
remote control!
