2. Press the battery compartment cover’s tab in the

direction of the arrow and the cover pops open. Then
remove the batteries.

3. Press 

PLAY

 to expose the tape-handling parts.

4. Use a cotton swab dipped in tape head-cleaning

solution or denatured alcohol to gently clean the play
head, pinch roller, capstans, and tape guides.

5. When you finish cleaning, press 

STOP

. Then reinstall

the batteries and close the cassette compartment
door and cover.
