Safety Precautions
• Always use the product with the au IC card tray closed. If you
fail to do so, dust or water etc. may enter inside and cause a
malfunction.
• Do not allow foreign object such as liquid, metal objects to enter
to au IC card slot of the product. May cause a malfunction.
• Do not apply strong impacts such as dropping, throwing or
stepping. May cause a malfunction.
• Do not put the product directly on sandy beach etc. Allowing sand
etc. to enter into the receiver/speaker, main microphone, or sub-
microphone may reduce the sound volume. Also, it may cause a
malfunction if sand etc. gets inside the main unit.

Touch panel
• The touch panel is designed to be lightly touched by fingers.
Do not apply strong pressure with your fingers or sharp-pointed
objects (such as fingernails, ballpoint pens and pins) on the touch
panel.
In the following cases, the touch panel does not respond when it
is touched. Note that they may also cause false operations.
• Operation with gloved hands
• Operation with fingernails
• Operation with foreign object on the touch panel
• Operation on the surface that a protective sheet or sticker is
attached
• Operation on the display that has waterdroplet on it or dew
condenses
• Operation with wet or sweaty fingers
• Operation underwater
• If a sticker or sheet (commercially available protective film, peep
prevention sheet, etc.) is attached on the display, the touch
panel may not work properly. Also, registering or authenticating
fingerprints may not be available because the fingerprint sensor of
the product is built into the display.
• When carrying the product which is put in your pocket or a bag,
the touch panel may operate falsely if conductive objects such as
metal gets close to the display.

Organic EL display
• For organic EL displays, the brightness may become low partially
or the color may change if you keep an image displayed for a long
time, set the screen brightness higher than necessary, or using
continuously for extremely long time. It is characteristic of organic
EL display, not a malfunction.
• Although organic EL displays are made in high-precision
technology, there may be slightly missing pixels or pixels which
always lights. Also, they may contain linear irregular color or
uneven brightness or change of colors depending on angle of
watching. It is because of structure of organic EL display, not a
malfunction. Please be forewarned.
