Pressing
x
opens the tailgate even
if the doors are locked.
Sports tourer
After unlocking, push the touchpad
switch under the tailgate moulding
and open the tailgate.

4-door notchback
To unlock the boot lid, press
x
on
the remote control for at least two
seconds, or, to open from the inside,
press
x
in the centre console; the
boot lid is opened slightly.
With the doors centrally locked, the
boot lid cannot be opened by pressing
x
in the centre console.
Closing
Use one of the interior handles.
Do not push the touchpad switch or
the emblem whilst closing as this will
unlock the tailgate again.

General hints for operating
tailgate
9 Danger
Do not drive with the tailgate open
or ajar, e.g. when transporting
bulky objects, since toxic exhaust
gases, which cannot be seen or
smelled, could enter the vehicle.
This can cause unconsciousness
and even death.
Caution
Before opening the tailgate check
overhead obstructions, such as a
garage door, to avoid damage to
the tailgate. Always check the
moving area above and behind the
tailgate.
