Making Ice Cubes

Fill the ice cube tray supplied with the appliance 3/4

full with water and place it in the two-star

compartment.  Turning the thermostat control knob to

a colder setting will speed up this process, but

remember to return to its original position after.
To release the ice cubes, twist the tray along its

length.

Normal operating sounds

You may hear faint gurgling or bubbling sounds when

the refrigerant is pumped to the cooling plate through

the coils or tubing at the rear.
When the compressor is on, the refrigerant is being

pumped round, and you will hear a whirring sound or

pulsating noise from the compressor.
A thermostat controls the compressor, and you will

hear a faint 'click' when the thermostat cuts in and out.

Defrosting

Regular defrosting is necessary to ensure efficient

operation of the appliance.
It is recommended that the two-star compartment is

defrosted fortnightly or when the frost is more than 4-

5 mm thick.
Frost will build up in the frozen food compartment due

to the moisture in the air which enters the refrigerator

compartment when the door is opened and from

moisture in the stored food.

Empty the two-star compartment.
Push the drip tray into the closed position.
Push in the defrosting button in the centre of the

thermostat control knob.
Leave the appliance door open.
The frost will melt away and the defrost water will

collect in the drip tray.
Place a container beneath the tray and remove the

bung. Remember to replace the bung when the

water has drained away.
Wipe the interior of the two-star compartment dry.
