HEARTBEAT TIMER:
The HEARTBEAT TIMER parameter sets the interval between the
“message - response” signals sent between the Integra and the
factory host. The ”Heartbeat” message signal is sent to the factory
host by the Integra which must receive a return message from the
host in a set amount of time. The “Heartbeat” signal ensures that the
factory host is still ONLINE. If no message is returned from the host,
the
COMMUNICATION STATUS
goes to
Disabled
, and the
CONTROL STATUS
goes to
Host Offline
.
The signals between the two systems continue at the set interval
during the entire time that the systems are ONLINE.
To set the HEARTBEAT TIMER parameter, touch the number box next
to the parameter to bring up the
NUMBER PAD
screen. Enter the
desired timeout in seconds, and then touch the ENTER key to set the
number and close the
NUMBER PAD
screen.
INITIAL COMM STATE:
The INITIAL COMM STATE button is a switch that toggles between
Disabled
and
Enabled
. When the button displays
Enable
, the Integra
attempts to establish an RS-232 communication link with the factory
host as part of the Integra’s boot routine. The attempt lasts for the
length of time set in the
ESTABLISH COMM TIMEOUT
button. If the
link is not established during the boot routine, it may be manually
attempted when the host comes ONLINE.
INITIAL CONTROL STATE:
The INITIAL CONTROL STATE button is a switch that toggles
between
Online
and
Offline
. This control state establishes a control
relationship for system functions and data exchange. If the initial
link is established, and the button is set to
Online
, then the system
attempts to establish an Online control status defined in the
ONLINE SUBSTATE
parameter.
ONLINE FAILED STATE:
The ONLINE FAILED STATE button is a switch that toggles between
Equipment Offline
and
Host Offline
. It tells the system which
control status to enter if the initial control state link fails. In the
Integra, both options (
Equipment Offline
and
Host Offline
)
perform identically. This setting does not effect the running of the
system, but is necessary for completing GEM software requirements.
