Conference Speaker Unit
The chairman speaker unit
and the delegate speaker unit
are gooseneck
condenser microphones with hypercardioid characteristic and are specially designed for use with the
conference amplifier
. The amplifier offers connections for up to 60 speaker units and supplies
them with power. Delivery includes a windscreen.
Connect the connection cable of the first speaker unit with one of the speaker unit inputs GROUP 1 to 4 on the
conference amplifier. Then connect the connection cable of the second speaker unit to the feed-through jack of
the first speaker unit, etc. until all speaker units are interconnected to a row (max. 20 units). Repeat the steps
for the other speaker unit inputs GROUP 1 to 4 correspondingly. The speaker units can be connected within
the chain as desired. f required, extension cables available in 5 and 10 m can be used. The total cable length
from the conference amplifier to the last speaker unit must not exceed 180 m.
Adjust the gooseneck on the speaker unit so that the microphone points directly to the speaker. Place the
supplied windscreen.
Adjust the volume on the speaker unit with the control LEVEL.
The sum signal of the conference system can also be monitored via two sets of stereo headphones
connected to the jacks EARPHONES 1 and 2. The headphones level is determined by the setting of the
control LEVEL.
Switch on the microphone of the delegate speaker unit
with one of the on/off switches. The
conference amplifier registers the request to speak and the speaker unit is allocated a free transmission
channel. The light ring on the gooseneck and the LED next to the on/off switches light up red to indicate that
speaker unit can now be used to make announcements.
The number of delegate speaker units that can be used simultaneously depends on the operating mode
adjusted with the control
on the conference amplifier:
operating mode closed user group: If the maximum number is reached when switching on a further speaker
unit its function indicator will flash green and the conference amplifier does not allocate a free transmission
channel. Then a speaker unit must be switched off first before another unit can be switched on.
operating mode open user group: If the maximum number is reached when switching on a further speaker
unit all other speaker units are automatically switched off.
In order to switch on the microphone of the chairman speaker unit
press the button MIC. The
light ring and the function LED light up red, and the speaker unit is allocated a free transmission channel by
the conference amplifier regardless of the operating mode adjusted for the delegate units.
The chairman speaker unit can take priority over the other speaker units. For this press the button PRIORITY.
Then all delegate speaker units will be switched off.
