Position - Monitoring Mode
A completely transparent signal path between OPTICAL #1 and OPTICAL #2 is established.
The data received on interface OPTICAL #1 can be monitored on RS-232 #1.
The data received on interface OPTICAL #2 can be monitored on RS-232 #2.

The described mode of operation requires the OR / NORM switch being in
NORM
Position.
3.2 LIGHT-ON / LIGHT-OFF Switch
This selection is to adopt to the light position for idle status on the optical interface.
The
LIGHT-ON
position is is the one defined in the IEC 61850-5-103 standard.
Some protective relays (e.g. from SIEMENS), are delivered with the
LIGHT-OFF
setting by default.
