Hazardous voltages
You can connect hazardous voltages to the OM-USB-2404-UI device's spring terminals. A hazardous voltage is
a voltage greater than 42.4 V
pk
or 60 VDC to earth ground. Take the following precautions if you connect
hazardous voltages to the OM-USB-2404-UI:
Caution!
Ensure that hazardous voltage wiring is performed only by qualified personnel adhering to local
electrical standards.
Do not mix hazardous voltage circuits and human-accessible circuits on the same device.
Make sure that devices and circuits connected to the OM-USB-2404-UI are properly insulated
from human contact.
When device terminals are hazardous voltage LIVE (>42.4V
pk
/60 VDC), ensure that devices and
circuits connected to the OM-USB-2404-UI are properly insulated from human contact. A high
voltage screw terminal backshell (OM-ACC-176) must be installed when using hazardous
voltages to ensure that the terminals are not accessible.
Hazardous locations
The OM-USB-2404-UI is not certified for use in hazardous locations.
