1)  Turn the condenser focus knob (20) to raise or lower the condenser (22).
2)  Raise the condenser (22) when using high power objectives and lower it when using

low power objectives.

Note:

The centering of the condenser and the light axes of the objective are factory

adjusted. Do not attempt re-adjustment.

The highest position of the condenser has been factory adjusted. Do not attempt

re-adjustment.

3.7  Adjusting Kohler illumination

1)  Connect the power cord and turn on the main switch.
2)  Have the specimen in focus.
3)  Close the field diaphragm (24) so that the edges of the field diaphragm show in the

field of view.

4)  Turn the condenser focus knob (20) to make the image of field diaphragm edges

clear

5)  Adjust the centering screws (23) to make the image of field diaphragm edges in the

view center.

6)  Open the field diaphragm (24) so that its edges are just out of the view field.
7)  Adjust the aperture iris diaphragm lever (19) to get proper contrast of the specimen.
8)  Adjust the intensity dial (17) to get proper light intensity.

3.8  Adjusting focus tension

The tension has been pre-set at the factory. If the mechanical stage drops by itself,
rotate the tension adjustment collar (13) located inside the focus knob (14) on the
power switch side until the tension is in maintained.
