  Operation

Connection to the IPLEX LX/LT/MX II/TX, Power Supply, and Grounding

• Do not connect with a gas pipe as grounding. This may cause an explosion.
• Do not splash or spill water or any other liquid on the instrument. To avoid electric

shock, do not use the unit while it is wet. If any liquid gets inside the unit, stop using
it immediately and contact Olympus.

• To avoid explosions or fires, never attempt to use the unit in areas exposed to

flammable gases. Never use the unit near flammable gas or liquid. This instrument is
not explosion-proof.

• Always use a 3-pin plug with grounding pin. Be sure to ground the power cord. If the

unit is not grounded, electric shock may result.

• When connecting the power cord, always hold the plug part. Take care not to touch a

prong of the plug to prevent electric shock.

• Do not forcibly bend, pull, twist or crush the power cord or the AC adapter’s output

cable. Not only can this break the cable wire, but it may also cause fire or electric
shock.

• Do not let the power cord or the AC adapter’s output cable come in contact with a hot

object or heat source. Not only can this disconnect the cable wire, it may also cause
a fire or electric shock.

• Do not use the unit in areas where the air may contain particul such as metal dust.

This could cause equipment failure or fire due to rise in the internal temperature.

• Do not bang the instrument against a wall or drop it on the floor. This can

permanently damage the unit and cause malfunction or electric shock.

• Do not use the unit under direct sunlight. This raises the temperature inside the unit

and may cause it to malfunction.

• Do not use the unit under high temperatures and humidity. Condensation may occur

inside the unit and cause it to malfunction.
