Cleaning the distal end
Dirt or water droplets on the objective lens of the distal end
Grasping the rigid portion of the distal end, use a clean, soft piece of gauze or a cotton swab to
wipe off the dirt or water droplets.
You could also use the brush to brush away dirt and water droplets.
Best results may be obtained by using a commercially available absolute ethanol or isopropyl
alcohol.
Build up of dirt on the optical adapter positioning groove or screw threads of the distal
end
Use the brush provided with the cleaning kit to brush away built up dirt.
Note that insufficient cleaning may result in a loss of water tightness between the optical adapter
and the distal end.

Cleaning the optical adapter
Dirt or water droplets on the outer surface of the optical adapter or objective lens in the
optical adapter
Use a piece of clean, soft gauze or cotton swab to wipe off dirt and water. You could also use
the brush to brush away dirt and water droplets.
Cleaning dirt from the optical adapter outer surface while it is attached to the distal end
Grasping the rigid portion of the distal end, wipe the optical adapter. Best results may be obtained
by using a commercially available absolute ethanol or isopropyl alcohol.
Dirt on the threads of screws of the optical adapter
Moisten a cotton swab with a commercially available absolute
ethanol or isopropyl alcohol, and keep cleaning in the
sequence (1), (2), (3) as shown in the picture on the right until
no dirt is left on the cotton swab. Spin the cotton swab while
cleaning.
Also, for thorough cleaning, turn the optical adapter while doing
(2) and (3).
NOTE
Do not clean the optical adapter under running water. Otherwise, the optical adapter may
