A:  The main differences between the C-4000 Zoom and the C-4040 Zoom is that the C-4000
Zoom added the following:

 

Virtual Mode Dial for quick selection of 6 Scene Program modes and 4 custom "My Modes"

 

Super Macro for extreme close-ups.  You can photograph your subject as close as 0.

AF Area – allows you to select the area that you want to focus on; by changing the position of
the AF Target Mark.

     

NTSC and PAL

 video output – now you can also view your images on a television overseas.  This

camera includes both NTSC and PAL video output options.

 

Selectable Language Menu - The menu can be viewed in four different languages (English,
French, German and Spanish).

 

3:2 Aspect ratio – lets you print the entire image without losing its borders; almost the same
image size used by photo labs.

 

PW On/Off – Sets the picture displayed on the monitor when the camera is turned on or off.

 

Histogram - displays the brightness and contrast of the subject on your camera monitor
during shooting and playback modes.

A:  The CD-ROM provides a full Reference Manual in PDF format on the CD-ROM.  Adobe
Acrobat which is provided on the CD-ROM is necessary to view the PDF manual.  The printed
manual that is included with the camera is a "Basic Manual".

Q: What is the battery life expectancy of the C-4000 Zoom?

A: The battery life on alkaline batteries vary according to manufacturer and power rating.
Alkaline Batteries can provide up to 150 shots with typical usage. The Olympus CR-V3 long-life
lithium batteries will provide approximately 400 shots.  The Olympus Ni-MH batteries would
provide approximately 250 shots per charge and they can be recharged 300 to 500 times.

Q: Are the provided Olympus LB-01 CR-V3 lithium batteries rechargeable?

A: No, the Olympus LB-01 CR-V3 lithium batteries are not rechargeable.
