High voltage/X-ray On LEDs
These LEDs glow red whenever high voltage is enabled and X-ray
generation is possible.

Interlock open LED
This LED is normally off. It glows amber when a safety interlock
switch has been opened. A safety interlock switch could be triggered
by removing the sample carrier during a sample analysis.

Power key switch
The power key switch has
ON
and
OFF
positions. The key must be
inserted and in the
ON
position for the system to operate, including
operation of the X-ray beam.

Control panel interlock
(not shown)
This is a magnetic switch that prevents the operation of high voltage
when the control panel (top panel) is improperly seated or removed
from the outer case. Under these conditions, the X-ray beam will not
operate.
