RANSMITTING AND RECEIVING
PROGRAMMING ONE-TOUCH, SPEED AND
GROUP DIALLING
As illustrated in “special dialling cases”, you can
programme the fax machine to carry out the follow-
ing rapid dialling procedures:

One-touch dialling
•
Speed dialling
•
Group dialling
One-touch dialling
You can associate a fax or telephone number or
an internet address, and a name to each of the 15
specific keys (01-15). The number/name stored will
be selected automatically when you hold down the
corresponding key.
You may also transmit in a confidential mode. In
this case the document transmitted will not be
printed immediately by the fax machine receiving it.
This method of transmission requires that the re-
cipient’s fax machine has a suitable storage file,
known as “Confidential Mailbox” (see specific sec-
tion).
Associating a fax or telephone number:
1.
Make sure that the display shows the initial wait-
ing mode and the date and time.

If a number has already been stored under
this key, it will be displayed.

Dial the recipient’s fax or telephone number
(max. 64 digits) on your fax machine’s numeric
keypad.

If you enter a wrong digit, position the cursor
on it and press the correct one.
If you want to delete the number completely,
press the
key.

If your fax machine is connected to a private
line, connect to the public line by pressing the
(EXTERNAL) key. The display shows
the letter “E” (external). If the external connec-
tion mode required by your telephone ex-
change is different from the one set on your
fax, re-programme it according to the external
connection mode required (see “Connecting
to a Private Line”, in “Setting up the fax ma-
chine for the telephone line”).

If the recipient belongs to another telephone
area code, it is advisable to enter a pause (us-
ing the
(PAUSE) key) between the in-
ternational code, the area code and the recipi-
ent’s telephone number.
8.
Press the
key to confirm your selec-
tion. The fax machine will prompt you to type the
recipient’s name.
