Error Messages
Some of the more common error
messages appear below. For a

XXXX TONER LOW
Meaning
Appears on the second line of the
display to indicate that color XXXX
toner cartridge is getting low.
What to Do
Be sure you have a replacement toner
cartridge handy.
INSTALL NEW TONER
nnn: XXXXX TONER EMPTY
Meaning
The toner cartridge indicated
(XXXXX) has run out of toner.
What to Do
Replace the toner cartridge. See page
25.
CHANGE XXXX IMAGE DRUM
Meaning
Appears on the second line of the
display to indicate that color XXXX
(e.g., BLACK) image drum needs to
be replaced.
What to Do
Replace the XXXX image drum. (See
the instructions supplied with the new
image drum.)
INSTALL ADDITIONAL MEMORY
420: MEMORY OVERFLOW
Meaning
The amount of data in the file being
printed has exceeded the printer’s
memory.
What to Do
• Reduce the size of the file being
printed (e.g., print the file as
separate groups of pages instead of
all the pages at one time).
• Install additional memory (see
Accessories in the on-line C7000
Series Desktop User’s Guide).
