DRM Protected Files
What is a DRM file?
DRM stands for “Digital Rights Management”. WMA files that are legally
downloaded from the internet are generally protected by DRM. These
files contain a license that directs how the file may be used. All licenses
are controlled by the Windows Media® Player (version 9.0 and higher).
In order to play DRM protected files, the Windows Media® Player must
be used.
Which Windows Media® Player Version is installed on my
computer?
Open the Windows Media® Player installed on your computer, click the
question mark located on the menu bar and select “INFO”. The
Windows Media® Player version will appear in the next window.
Windows Media® Player is free and can be downloaded from the
internet. We recommend using Windows Media® Player Version 10.0.
Using DRM Protected Files
Open the Windows Media® Player and click on the synchronization
button. Browse through your computer and select a DRM protected file.
Please note that only WAV files using IMADPCM coding can
be used when in the voice playback mode. Please use the
Music Playback mode to playback MP2 and WMA files.
