i.

Select a primary contact plate (g) that matches the contour
of the top of the plastic grip (closest to a user). Peel the

blue protective film off of the tab on the primary contact

plate (g), then slide the tab into the connector at the end

of the small white wire.

j.

Select  a  secondary  contact  plate  (h)  that  matches  the
contour of the bottom of the plastic grip (away from the
user). Peel the blue protecting film off of the tab on the
secondary  contact  plate  (h)  and  slide  the  tab  into  the

connector at the end of the remaining wire.

k.

Repeat steps (f) through (k) for the right handlebar.

l.

Push any extra lengths of wire into the mast tube.

m. Insert the connector at the end of the heart rate cable into

its connector on the heart rate board on the back of the
keypad.

(This is a two-wire cable ending in a single

connector.)

Route  the  contact  heart  rate  cable  wires

around the posts on the back of the keypad, in the same
manner that the other heart rate cable is routed (see figure

at right).

n.  Route the cable from the other end of the heart rate board

down through the top of the mast tube and out of the hole
beneath the console plate.

o.  Route the red and white fan wires with the white connector

down through the top of the mast tube and out of the hole
beneath the console plate.

p.

Attach the black ribbon cable connector from the keypad
(2)  to  its  cable  coming  from  the  top  of  the  mast.

Tug

the  cables  gently  to  ensure  the  connectors  are

completely seated.

q.  Position the keypad (2) on the mast (B) and insert each of

the 4 shorter screws with washers through the mast holes

and into the keypad back. Tighten screws to secure.

r.  Remove  the  film  from  the  adhesives  on  the  primary

contact  plates  (g)  and  secondary  contact  plates  (h)

and  carefully  press  the  plates  onto  the  grips,  pushing
the  tabs,  connectors,  and  wires  inside  the  grips.

It is recommended that you wait to adhere the grips

until after you have installed the console and verified

that  the  contact  heart  rate  grips  are  transmitting  a
