This supplement to the M100/M100X Maritime Survivor Locating Device User Manual
contains important safety information relating to the use and maintenance of the M100X
variant for use in explosive atmospheres. Please read this supplement carefully.
WARNINGS
SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR THE SAFE USE OF THE M100X.
Failure to comply with the following warnings could result in the ignition of explosive
atmospheres.
The M100X is for operation in Zone 2 only. It shall not be operated in Zone 0 or
Zone 1 areas.
Do not open the M100X or attempt to change the battery in a hazardous area.
Maintenance and battery exchange shall be carried out by authorised service
centres only. Any attempt to open the unit by non-authorised personnel will
invalidate the certification of this device.
Certification
The M100X MSLD has been tested and certified to compliance with EN60079-0:2012 and
EN60079-11:2012 for the European ATEX directive 2014/34/EU and to the IEC Certification
Scheme for Explosive Atmospheres (IECEx).
