on the reservoir when filling. Note that the quantity of brewed coffee will be
slightly less, as the ground coffee absorbs some of the water.
Place the jug on the hotplate. Make sure that the glass jug is positioned
correctly so that the anti-drip function is activated by the lid of the glass jug.
Open the lid and insert the filter holder into the filter unit. Note that the filter
holder can only be positioned facing in one direction. Insert a filter (1x2) into
the filter holder and measure out the required quantity of coffee into the filter –
approx 1 coffee measure per cup. Make sure that the filter holder is positioned
correctly and that the handle is fully lowered so that the holder locks in place
before the lid is lowered.
Close the coffee maker lid again.
Plug the appliance in and start the coffee maker by pressing the power switch.
The indicator light will come on to show that the coffee brewing process has
started.
The hotplate underneath the glass jug will get very hot. Always switch off the
coffee maker once the glass jug is empty or when the coffee no longer needs
to be kept hot. For reasons of hygiene, we always recommend removing the
used coffee filter from the coffee maker once the brewing process is complete.
Anti-drip function
This coffee maker has an automatic anti-drip function that prevents the coffee
from running through the filter holder if the jug is removed from the hotplate.
In other words, you can briefly remove the jug from the coffee maker during
the brewing process. However, it is important to replace the jug on the hotplate
within 40 seconds, otherwise the coffee will run over.
Automatic shut-off function
The coffee maker is equipped with an automatic shut-off function that ensures
that the coffee maker switches off automatically after 40 minutes.
Cleaning and maintenance
Switch off the coffee maker. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down
before cleaning. Remove any used coffee filter and clean the coffee maker
with a damp cloth. Wipe dry with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use scouring powder
or a kitchen sponge! The coffee maker must not be submerged in water or
held under running water. The glass jug, its lid and the filter holder can be
washed in the top basket of the dishwasher.
NOTE!
If the coffee maker is used in locations where there is a risk of frost
(caravan, summer cottage, etc.), make sure to FULLY empty the coffee maker’s
reservoir of water (turn the appliance upside down). This is to ensure that the
reservoir is not destroyed by residual water freezing. Also empty the coffee
maker if it will not be used for a prolonged period.
