Toasting
Place the toaster on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Plug the appliance in. Before
using the toaster for the first time, it should be heated without bread in it to
remove any impurities. Turn the thermostat button to 7. Then press the bread
lift down. After a while the bread lift pops up again and the toaster is then
ready to use.
Place bread in the bread slot and set the desired browning level (1-7) using
the setting button. Browning level 1 is the minimum level of browning;
browning level 7 is the highest (the darkest). The higher the browning level
you choose, the longer the toasting time. Press the bread lift down until it
locks into the lowest position. Once the toast is ready, the bread lift will pop up
automatically and the toasting cycle will stop.
If you wish to stop the toasting cycle before the bread lift pops up, press the
stop button (7). The toasting cycle then stops.
IMPORTANT!
The bread lift cannot be locked unless the appliance is plugged
into a wall socket.
If bread becomes trapped in the toaster, unplug the toaster and allow it to
cool down. You can turn the toaster upside down and gently shake it to get
the bread out. If that does not work, gently coax the bread up. Make sure that
metal objects do not come into contact with the heating elements, as there is a
high risk of damage, which is not covered by the warranty.
IMPORTANT – bread may start to burn!
The toaster must therefore only be used under supervision and must not be
placed near or under curtains, cabinets and other combustible material.
IMPORTANT!
The toaster must not be covered with foil or other materials
when used, as hot air must be able to circulate around the appliance. Any
damage caused to the product in this way is not covered by consumer
protection.
NOTE!
Never toast bread with butter or other toppings on it. If you toast bread
containing raisins (or other fruit/berries), be sure to remove any loose raisins/
fruits/berries to prevent them from falling into the bottom of the toaster or
burning onto the heating elements.
The toaster is for indoor use only and must not be handled with wet or damp
hands.
Be aware that the heating elements expand slightly when the toaster is in use
and turn red. This is normal and does not affect the results.
If the toaster’s cord is in the way, you can easily wind part of it under the
toaster.
