Before use
Before the toaster is taken into use for the first time, please read the instruction manual
thoroughly and keep it for future use.
How to use the toaster
Place the toaster on a plain, heat-resistant surface. Apply the plug to a power socket. Before
the toaster is used for the first time, switch on without bread to clean out possible impurities.
Set the thermostat to the highest toasting level and activate the toaster 3-5 times without
bread. The toaster is now ready for use.
Set the thermostat to the desired toasting level. The toaster has 7 levels – level 1 is the lo-
west toasting level, and level 7 is the highest (darkest). The higher the toasting level is set,
the longer the toasting time. Please note that dry bread requires shorter toasting time than
fresh bread. Put the bread loaves into the slot and press down the lever until it locks. When
the bread is done, the lever will automatically jump back into top position, and the toaster will
also switch off automatically. If you have difficulties getting the bread out of the toaster, the
‘high rise’ function can be used: the lever can be lifted carefully, raising the bread above the
edge for easy access. If you wish to end toasting before the time has elapsed, simply press
the STOP button.
IMPORTANT
: The lever does not lock if the toaster is not connected to a power socket.
Bread can ignite and burn!
The toaster must only be used under supervision and must not be placed near or under
curtains, kitchen cabinets, or other flammable material.
Choose from the following functions:
STOP
This light switches on when the toaster is activated. End toasting at any time by
pressing the STOP button.
BAGEL
Use this function if you wish to toast a bun or bagel only on one side. Put the
bread in the toaster with the cut side facing outwards – the middle heating
element is deactivated when this function is selected. Press the BAGEL button
immediately after the unit has been switched on to activate this function.
DEFROST Only use frozen bread which is suited for use with a toaster. This function allows
the bread to defrost and heat through over longer time. The toaster is now set for
defrost and toasting time is automatically adjusted. Press the DEFROST button
immediately after the unit has been switched on to activate this function.
REHEAT
Use this function to reheat bread which has already been toasted. This function
activates a shorter toasting. Press the REHEAT button immediately after the
unit has been switched on. The bread is now reheated without further toasting.
Be careful! The toaster’s surface turns very hot during use.
