Installation using plastic pipes.
When using plastic pipes, the general installation principles for heat-
tracing of plastic pipes should be respected (i.e. using Aluminium tape
nVent RAYCHEM ATE-180 as installation method). It is only allowed to
use plastic pipes with minimum temperature rating of 90°C. If correctly
installed, the temperature behaviour will be comparable with metal
piping. Deviations of temperature can be compensated for by using the
‘Power Correction Factor’.
Special applications
Installation on composite pipes
The maximum allowed surface temperatures needs to be considered in
case of use of composite pipes. If special applications are wanted, heat
loss calculations must be performed to predict achievable temperatures.
