nuPro AS-250

·

4/2020 EN

All settings of the AS-250 can be adjusted and read using the key-

pad and display on the front of the speaker. After 8 seconds of inac-

tivity, the display changes back to its default readout (default: level).

Pressing a key will take you to the last used menu or let you adjust

the volume.

Pressing

in the volume menu will access the main menu.

Pressing this key will always take you back to a higher menu

level.

By pressing

 or

you can access the different menus and

change their settings.

By pressing

you will enter a sub-menu. Pressing the MENU

key in the middle will confirm a selection you have made or

confirm the choice of a sub-menu.

Note:

Your settings are saved when the display changes back to

its default state. If power to the nuPro speaker is lost before this

happens, the speaker will load the last saved state when power is

restored.

 and

 keys to adjust the volume.

Note:

The displayed level can be set to show either a positive or

negative value. Press and hold the central MENU-key to set the

12 dB. See also page 7, section “Tilt control”.

BASS

Use the

 and

keys to raise or lower the bass level by up to

12 dB.

BAL

(Balance)

Use the

 and

keys to change the relative level between the left

and right channel by up to 9 dB.

SETUP

This menu option is used to select the playback mode.

In stereo mode, each of the two channels of the AS-250 receives the

corresponding left or right signal of the playback-source.

If the mono mode is selected, the DSP generates a mono sum signal

and outputs this to both channels equally. The total level is cor-

rected in such a way that no volume change occurs. This mode is

recommended in combination with further nuPros. See page 9 in the

section „Further configurations“.

SUBOUT

The subwoofer output outputs a low-passed mono sum signal. In

this menu you can set the desired crossover frequency for the sub-

woofer. Use the

 and

keys to change the crossover frequency.

SYS HP

(High-pass and crossover frequency)

In  this  menu,  you  can  set  the  high-pass  (lo-cut)  filter  frequency.

This is particularly useful if you connect a subwoofer to your nuPro

speaker.

Use the

 and

keys to activate (ON) or deactivate (OFF) the

filter. If the Filter is set to ON, press

or the MENU key to get to

the next menu where you can set the proper frequency, using the

 and

 keys

Note:

Setting the high-pass filter to a higher frequency increases

the maximum possible sound pressure level from your nuPro loud-

speaker.

DISPLY

(Display)

After 8 seconds of inactivity, the display reverts to its default readout.

The DISPLY menu allows you to change this readout. You can set

the display to display the level (VOLUME), the nuPro logo (LOGO)

or turn the display off (OFF).

LIM DS

(displaying limiter/overload protection status)

Each nuPro loudspeaker has a built-in, always active protection cir-

cuit, which reliably protects the drivers from overload. If the built-in

overload protection is active, this is indicated in the display by the

word LIMIT. In this menu, you can choose to have this warning-mes-

sage displayed (ON) or not (OFF).

PRESET

In this menu, you can save all settings of the nuPro speaker in three

presets. To do this, select the preset slot you want to save in, us-

ing the

 and

keys, then press the MENU button until the word

SAVING appears in the display. To recall a preset, select it in the

menu and confirm with a short press of the central MENU button.

LODING is then briefly shown in the display to confirm the selection.

AUTO

The electronics of the AS-250 has an automatic stand-by function,

which automatically switches the loudspeaker to stand-by and back

on as required. Selecting OFF disables this function.

Further information on the automatic stand-by function can be found

on page 7 in the “ Construction and technology” section.

AGAIN

(Autogain)

By default, the input sensitivity of your nuPro speaker is set automat-

ically to avoid overload and distortion. If you don’t want to use this

feature, select OFF in this menu. The input sensitivity is then fixed

at 1,5V. See also Page 7, “construction and technology”.

DEFALT

In this menu you can reset the speaker to factory settings. To reset

your speaker, select OK and confirm by pressing the MENU key.

LODING is then briefly shown in the display to confirm the reset.

Note:

You can also reset the speaker by pressing and holding the

 key for 8 seconds.
