CAUTION
Please use the mains adaptor that has come
supplied with the unit. Use of non-standard
products will shorten the life of the battery.
Fully charge the unit before using for the first
time. This typically takes 30 hours.
After use, press the battery status button (6) and
check the voltmeter (8). If the needle is in the
red ‘low’ zone the unit must be recharged.
It is recommended to recharge the unit after
every use and at least every 3 months.
Always avoid leaving the unit in a state of
discharge.
CHARGING USING THE MAINS ADAPTOR
Plug the mains adaptor into a 230V mains outlet
and then plug into the battery charging point
(18). The red charge indicator light (12) will
illuminate, this means the unit is receiving
charge.
The amount of time taken to recharge the
battery will vary depending on the batteries state
of charge. Typically between 6-40 hours is
needed to fully recharge the battery from total
discharge. It is recommended the the initial
charge is 30 hours. Once the unit is fully
charged the green charge indicator light (12) will
illuminate.
You can check the status of the battery while
charging by pressing the battery status button
(6). If the needle on the voltmeter (8) rests in the
green zone and is above 14V the battery is close
to being fully charged.
CHARGING USING THE 12V DC POWER
SOURCE
Open any of the auxiliary socket covers (1) on
the unit and plug in the auxiliary jack. Place the
other end of the auxiliary jack into your vehicles
cigarette lighter socket.
Ensure your vehicle engine is running while
using this method otherwise you may flatten your
vehicle battery.
Note:
This way of charging will not fully charge
the unit. Fully charge the unit by following the
steps outlined in the CHARGING USING THE
MAINS ADAPTOR section.
WARNING!: Never plug both ends of the
auxiliary jack into the 2 auxiliary sockets at
the same time. This will cause irrerversible
damage to the unit.
JUMP STARTING A VEHICLE
WARNING!:
Check that the vehicles battery
voltage is 12V, otherwise the battery could
explode.
Make sure the vehicle ignition is switched off
before starting this process.
Ensure that the units internal battery has
sufficient charge by pressing in the batery status
button (6).
Never allow the Red and Black clamps to touch
each other as this will cause a short circuit
damaging the internal battery of the unit.
Connect the (+ iv) Red clamp to the positive (+
iv) terminal of the vehicles battery.
Connect the (– iv) Black clamp to earth (a non
moving clean, bare metal part of the vehicle) (Do
not connect the black clamp directly onto the
negative terminal of the battery).
Turn on the vehicle ignition switch (Do not try to
start the vehicle yet) and wait for 2 to 3 minutes,
this ensures that the vehicles battery receives a
partial charge.
Try to start the vehicles engine, if it does not
start after approximately 5 seconds stop and
wait a further 2-3 minutes before retrying.
After successfully starting the vehicles engine
remove the Black clamp first and store it on the
jump starter. Remove the Red clamp and store it
on the unit.
If the vehicle fails to start after two attempts
using the jump starter, the problem may not be
battery related and may be due to another cause
e.g. an electrical or fuel fault.
USING THE AIR COMPRESSOR
WARNING:
Do not use the Air Compressor
function continuously for more than 10 minutes.
Allow the unit to rest for 10 minutes before
reusing.
To inflate a tyre, open the panel on the back of
the unit and locate the air hose. Place the
connector onto the tyre valve and lock into place
by pushing down on the lever.
