the stand, so that it is fully charged
and available to use at any time.
Understanding the wine preserver
♦
By removing the oxygen from the bottle, the wine
preserver prevents the early oxidation of the wine, which
dulls and damages the taste of the wine (red wines
especially).
♦
The 2-in-1 wine opener and preserver is provided with two
special wine stoppers that will keep the air from
re-entering the bottle after using the wine preserver. The
stoppers always need to be used in conjunction with the
wine preserver.
♦
The wine stoppers are equipped with a silver ring that lets
you indicate the date the wine preserver was last used,
and keep track of the time the bottle has been opened.
♦
We recommend drinking the contents of an opened
bottle within three to five days to preserve its qualities.
Using the wine preserver
1.
Place the wine bottle on a flat surface.
Insert a wine stopper into the wine bottle.
2.
Hold the wine stopper & wine bottle neck
securely in one hand and place the Wine
Preserver on the wine stopper.
3.
Keep the Wine Preserver as straight as
possible and in line with the wine bottle.
Use your thumb and forefinger of the
hand holding the bottle to steady the
Wine Preserver.
4.
Push down on the wine stopper. This
activates the pump, which gradually
removes the air from the bottle while the
stopper prohibits air from re-entering the bottle
(Fig. 4)
.
5.
The pumping noise will become slower and stop
suddenly after c. 15-20 secs.
6.
Do not release the pressure on the wine stopper until the
unit stops.
7.
Remove the Wine Preserver and replace on its stand
until it is needed again.
8.
After sealing the wine bottle, store in an upright position
as wine may leak if the bottle is laid on its side.
Note 1:
The Wine Preserver may attach itself to the wine
stopper. In this case, hold the wine stopper and the neck
of the bottle securely in one hand then tilt the Wine
Preserver away from the wine stopper to break the
suction. This should prevent air from re-entering the bottle.
If in doubt, repeat the above operating process.
Note 2:
There is no need to use the power button when
using the Wine Preserver – firm, downward pressure only.
The blue light will glow when the unit is operating.
Suggestion:
For more than half a bottle of wine remaining
– one session should suffice. For less than half a bottle we
suggest you repeat the above process a 2nd time.
Date Indicators
1.
Use the “ ▼ ” symbol on the stoppers
to indicate the date when the bottle
was sealed with your Wine Preserver.
2.
Gently swivel the silver ring to left or
right until the correct date is in line
with the “ ▼ ” symbol
(Fig.5)
.
Opening a bottle sealed with a stopper
♦
Firmly hold the bottle in one hand and gently ease the
wine stopper away from the bottle with your thumb.
♦
Store the wine stoppers on the charging stand or in a
clean safe place until next required.
♦
Rinse the stoppers occasionally in warm soapy water –
ensure they are dry before storing or using.
♦
Do not place in a dishwasher.
Note: You can remove
th
e vacuum in the bottle also by
pressing the pin at the centre of the wine stopper to the side.
If the bottle was sealed recently you should hear the air
re-entering the bottle.
Cleaning
1.
