Procedures
Set up
•
When a case is used, place it on a flat surface that can support the unit. Select a working area which is secure, stable,
convenient, and suitable for use during the period of the dive.
•
Conduct a visual inspection of unit to insure no damage has occurred during transportation to the job site, or since the
last time the unit was used.
•
Connect an external power source if needed
•
Connect the Diver Umbilicals
•
Connect the mouse and keyboard if needed
•
Turn the system ON
Diver comms Connections
If your setup contains a separate DVR3 and a separate communication system but your umbilical has only 1 multipin
connector for video light and comms then your setup should be made as can be seen below.
The multipin connects to the DVR3 and the comms will passthrough this system using the banana sockets. These sockets
are directly wired to the comms of the multipin connector. The communication system then needs to be connected to
these sockets using banana connectors. This way all systems get their data from the umbilical.
If you also want to record the comms in the DVR3 then you need to connect in addition the “Audio Out” on the
communication system to the “Audio in” on the DVR3 using an RCA-RCA cable. For Novasub communication systems
this can be separate for each diver. For 3rd party communication systems that only have 1 audio out for all diver you will
have to use a splitter to connect to the all the inputs on the DVR3
