HOW TO OPERATE
Before first use, clean the inside and outside of the unit by wiping with a moist,
non-abrasive sponge or cloth and then wipe with a non-abrasive dry towel.
Make sure the Top Housing is securely attached to the Base before starting.
1.
First, find a flat surface near an electrical outlet before starting. Make sure your cord
is away from any water source. It is acceptable to use an extension cord if needed.
2.
Gather your popcorn making supplies: popcorn, seasonings,
bowls or bags for holding the popcorn.
3.
Plug in the appliance while switch is flipped to OFF position.
4.
Remove the Kernel Measuring Cup.
5.
Turn unit ON by flipping the switch on the Base. Allow the appliance
to run for about 3 minutes to heat up the Popping Chamber.
6.
Turn unit OFF. Place bowl underneath the Popcorn Chute to collect popcorn.
7.
Fill the Kernel Measuring Cup (¼ cup) with popcorn kernels to the line indicated on the
inside of the cup.
IMPORTANT:
DO NOT overfill or pack kernels into Kernel Measuring Cup as this will crowd
the Popping Chamber. Doing so may result in more unpopped kernels and cause kernels to
smoke or burn.
NOTE
: Some brands of kernels have a harder outer shell and sometimes result
in fewer popped kernels. Generally, yellow corn pops better than white corn.
We recommend trying different brands to find which you like best.
8.
Pour kernels into the Popping Chamber and replace Kernel Measuring Cup.
IMPORTANT
: DO NOT place oil, shortening, butter or anything
other than popcorn kernels into the Popping Chamber.
9.
Turn unit ON. Within minutes, fresh popcorn will begin to burst out of the Popcorn Chute
and into the bowl below.
IMPORTANT:
If you see or smell smoke or odor, or if this appliance begins to malfunction
during use, immediately unplug the cord. Do not attempt to repair a malfunctioning
appliance.
CAUTION: Occasionally a hot unpopped kernel may be thrown from the popping
chute. To avoid contact with hot kernels, keep children and your face and hands a safe
distance from unit during the popping process.
10. When the popping slows to around 1-2 pops per second, turn unit OFF.
NOTE
: Overcooking the popcorn will cause scorching and burning.
11. Allow unit to cool for 10 minutes between popping sessions so unit does not overheat.
