Make sure that the system should be empty during storage at freezing
temperatures.
DO NOT overfill the holding tank. Attempting to flush the WC when the
tank is full, could result in damage to the waste system.
A waste tank indicator may be installed to provide a visual indication of the
amount of waste in the tank.
Deck Shower and Fresh Water System
If your boat is equipped with a deck shower, it is found by the aft entry and
serves as an effective fresh water shower or deck wash.
If your boat is also equipped with a water tank and an automatic water
pressure pump serving this shower, as well as the sink tap in the cabin, the
water tanks and the pump is located in aft storage. To operate, you must
switch on the pump by its switch on the console switch panel. After this,
the operation is automatic. If the fresh water runs out, the pump will run
continuously and may use up your battery if not switched off. Switch off the
pump when the shower is not in use.
Windlass
Your boat may be equipped with a 12V electric windlass. Please refer to
the windlass manual provided in your document bag for its use. Its
up/down switch is on the console. Consult your dealer about its operation if
in doubt.
Compass
Your boat may be equipped with a compass. It is advised that the compass
be checked for correct operation as it may be affected by the surrounding
items such as gauges, in the case of which it will require adjustment by a
professional.
5. ANCHORING ARRANGEMENT
An anchor locker is provided at the bow. The rope, chain and anchor can
be kept in this locker. Excess water will drain out through the hole at the
bottom of the locker.
Please consult your dealer for the optimum anchor for your cruising area.
In most cases a 7kg shrapnel type anchor, 2 meters of chain and 40
meters of 8 mm rope will suffice for this boat.
Anchoring is done for two principal reasons: first, to stop for fishing,
swimming, lunch, or an overnight stay and secondly, to keep you from
running aground in bad weather or as a result of engine failure. Anchoring
can be a simple task if you follow these guidelines:
•
Make sure you have the proper type of anchor (danforth / plow /
mushroom / shrapnel). – Consult your dealer.
•
A one to two meter length of galvanized chain should be attached
to the anchor. The chain will stand up to the abrasion of sand, rock
or mud on the bottom much better than a fiber line.
•
A suitable length of nylon anchor line should be attached to the
end of the chain. The nylon will stretch under heavy strain
cushioning the impact of the waves or wind on the boat and the
anchor.
•
Select an area that offers maximum shelter from wind, current and
boat traffic.
•
Determine depth of water and type of bottom (preferably sand or
mud).
