Chapter 5: Scheduled Maintenance

5.1 Maintenance by Shipboard Personnel

The NAVITWIN IV and the Switch-Over Unit are solid-state electronic 
devices and contain no consumable parts. Therefore, no set mainte-
nance schedule is required.

A visual inspection of cables and connectors should be carried out regu-
larly to detect any signs of damage or deterioration.

The NAVITWIN IV’s front plate should be cleaned when necessary, using 
only soap or a mild detergent applied with a damp cloth. Wipe dry with 
a cloth or towel.

CAUTION

Risk of damage
The front plate is made of clear polycarbonate.
Do not clean the front plate with organic solvents, acetone or any other 
substance which could damage or discolour plastic.
