Updating the BIOS
The BIOS Setup progr am can be used to view and change the BIOS settings for the computer.
You can access the BIOS Setup program by pressing the Delete key after the Power-On Self-
Test (POST) memory test begins and before the operating system boot begins.
This section tells you how to update the BIOS by using one of four different utilities:
Asus Update: Updates the BIOS in a Windows environment. 1.
Asus EZ Flash 2 : Updates the BIOS using a USB flash drive. 2.
ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3 : Restores the BIOS using the motherboard support DVD or a USB
flash drive when the BIOS file fails or gets corrupted.

Asus BIOS Updater:
Updates and backs up the
BIOS in a DOS environment using the
motherboard support DVD and a USB flash drive.

Updating the BIOS from the Internet with the Asus Update Utility
With the Intel Express BIOS Update utility you can update the system BIOS while in the Windows
environment. The BIOS file is included in an automated update utility that combines the
functionality of the Intel Flash Memory Update Utility and the ease of use of Windows-based
installation wizards. To u pda te the BIOS with the Intel Express BIOS Update utility:
After installing AI Suite II from the motherboard support DVD , launch ASUS Update by
clicking Update>ASUS Update
on the AI Suite II main menu bar.

From the ASUS Update screen, select Update BIOS from Internet , and then click Next. If
you would prefer to use a BIOS file that you already have, go to the section below, Updating
the BIOS from a file with the Asus Update Utility .

Select the ASUS FTP site nearest you to avoid network traffic. If you want to enable the BIOS
downgradable function and auto BIOS backup function, check the appropriate check boxes on
the screen.

Select the BIOS version that you want to download . Click Next. 4.
