NORTHERN DIVER HOTWATER SUIT

Instructions, Maintenance & Storage
The Northern Diver Hot Water Suit is manufactured
from materials which provide maximum comfort whilst
ensuring excellent resistance to wear and tear. As with
all diving products, ensuring that proper care and
maintenance is performed will ensure an extended
product life.

Please be aware that it is normal for the Hotwater Suits
to show a very small amount of shrinkage when in use.
This shrinkage may increase at depths in excess of
130 msw, therefore a tolerance has been allowed to
compensate for this in the manufactured sizes.

Storage
The Northern Diver Hot Water Suit is supplied in sealed
plastic packaging. This should be removed before use
and can be recycled. After use the Hot Water Suit must
be thoroughly cleaned and dried. The suit can then be:
i) Folded loosely and stored in a large bag or container
or
ii) Hung on a suitably sized hanger.
Always store in cool dry conditions and away from
direct sunlight.

In the event of the suit becoming torn or damaged, it
should ideally be returned to your local Hot Water Suit
distributor for inspection. The distributor will be able to
advise whether the equipment should be repaired or
replaced

Washing
The Hot Water Suit should be cleaned when soiled by
washing in luke warm clean water. If soiling is
particularly severe it is permissible the use mild
detergents as required. The suit should be dried at
normal room temperature.

Warning:

Do Not Tumble Dry as this may cause shrinkage

Important Note:
i) You are the best judge of your body’s thermal
protection requirements - always consider undersuit
specifications and combinations to best meet your
requirements.

ii) Hot water can scald; the dive superintendant must
ensure the hot water supply temperature is correctly
set and the diver should always wear an undersuit of
some description as a barrier which will prevent direct
contact with the hot water being supplied through the
suit.

Selection:
Thermal insulation value: 1.06 to 1.08 TOG (mean) (ie
no significant thermal insulation protection.)

The Northern Diver Hot Water Suit is designed to be
worn over a wetsuit of a diving undersuit (we
recommend the Northern Diver Thermalskin undersuit)
- acting as an outer heated suit and protection layer.
Without its’ hot water supply, the suit itself offers no
significant thermal insulation or protection from the
cold. The Hot Water Suit should be worn in conjunction
with diver’s underclothing to provide an additional
insulating layer (s) which have been identified in dive
planning operations.

The Hot Water Suit has the following characteristics:
Low friction - allowing the suit to slide easily whilst
being put on and taken off and also during diving.
Low Weight
Low Bulk
Ease of Movement
Ease of adjustment of the hot water supply
