The tooth may be ground until the
carbide until the carbide has
approximately 3/16" remaining.
Installing Teeth
1.
When installing teeth on the
cutting wheel, be sure that all teeth
are extended an equal length
beyond the wheel. A tooth gauge
(part # 783483) has been provided
with the grinder for this purpose.
2.
After teeth are located in position,
lock by tightening the (2) bolts in
each tooth pocket.
Tighten teeth 100 to 110 ft-lbs. torque.
CAUTION
:
Cutter wheel will be out of balance and should never be run with a tooth
missing or a badly worn tooth.
Teeth should be alternated so that you have the following pattern:
NorthStar stump grinders are equipped with reversible pockets. When reversing
pockets, position them in the same exact location. This will ensure the cutter wheel
will remain in balance.
Use only pockets and teeth recommended by NorthStar.
