Note: Some sets may not successfully upgrade. Should that
occur, you need to download firmware to those sets again.
12. The OTM-MSL server will save all the Expec messages during the
process into a log file and display in real-time in the Active Job
Status window (see
Figure 33 on page 119 ).
13. When the upgrade is complete, the OTM-MSL server removes the
Firmware from the Expec RAM and logs off the Expecs.
Procedures
Use Procedure 42 for the first firmware download after installing the
OTM-MSL server and client, and synchronization is complete.
Procedure 42
Perform the firmware downloads
1 Start server (if not running).
2 Start client.
3 Select the M3900 tool from menu in the M3900 Firmware Maintenance
Window (see
Figure 25 on page 112 ).
Note: If you get an error message like “cannot contact Expec service”
(see Figure 24), shut down your client and reconnect. What occurred is the
OTM-MSL server application was shut down and is now back up.

4 Click the Select Expec button in the M3900 Firmware Maintenance Main
Window (see
