Setting Up the BayStack Instant Internet 400-S Unit
Requirements and compatibility
Instant Internet supports the following Internet connection types:
•
Dial-up Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) connection with optional Multilink
Protocol (MP) at up to two times V.90
•
ISDN connection using synchronous PPP and optional Multilink Protocol
(MP) at up to 128 kilobits per second (Kb/s)
•
Synchronous leased-line connection at speeds up to 2 Mb/s (T1, E1, V.35, or
X.21) using PPP or frame relay (using RFC 1490)
•
Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) connection using the 1-Meg
modem or an external Ethernet device to connect to an access concentrator
Note:
The speed of dial-up connections can vary internationally. Consult
your local distributor for specifications.
