d. Repeat the drum change procedure and
adjustment if necessary until the ascent rate
is balanced.
6. Raise the elevator until it reaches its maximum
height, clear of the container (11).
7. Place the ram control valve (2) in the
Neutral
position.
8. Remove the old container. Center a new,
undamaged container (11) under the
follower plate (10).
9. Coat the follower plate seals (6) with a
compatible lubricant if required.
10. Remove the blow-off tube (5).
11. Place the ram control valve (2) in the
Down
position to lower the follower plate (10) into the
container (11).
12. Allow air to bleed from the bleeder
stem fitting (9) as the follower plate (10) moves
downward. When the material starts to
continuously flow from the bleeder stem fitting,
place the ram control valve (2) in the
Neutral
position.
13. Install the bleeder stem (8).
14. Place the ram control valve (2) in the
Down
position to apply downward force to the
elevator.
15. Set the air motor lockout valve (1) to
On
.
16. Using minimal pump air pressure, bleed the
remaining air through the ball valve and
dispense guns.
NOTE:
Small-frame pail units
−
The ball valve
or bleed valve is located on the back of the
pump. Valves are not shown in Figure 1.
17. After all the air is bled, close the ball valve or
the bleed valve.
