Thank you for purchasing the NOCH Synchro Sound Box. This item contains a powerful 3-watt amplifier with a
programmable diesel motor (60250) and chuff rate (60260) sound and 12 additional realistic high quality sounds
bringing more life to your layout. The hand controller and loudspeaker are included.
The NOCH Synchro Sound Box is compatible with all HO, TT and N scale DC or AC layouts without the complex
installation of a sound decoder in your locomotives.
These sounds will create a more realistic and exciting model railroad experience!
Installation:
Connect the white and yellow cable to the Variable (Track) Terminals (AC/DC 18 Volts Max) on your power pack or to the tracks.
When the throttle on your transformer is set at zero, you will hear the idling sounds of a locomotive. Adjust the throttle speed on the power pack and the
motor or chuff rate of the locomotive will increase.
Operating the Synchro Sound:
Volume Knob (Locomotive Sound):
Control the volume by turning the knob left or right for both steam and diesel locomotive sounds.
Sound Buttons:
Activate the sounds by simply pushing on one of the 12 buttons on the controller.
2-Channel Technology:
Activate the locomotive sound (steam chuff or diesel motor) and you can press any one of the sound buttons. You will hear a sound on sound effect to
the locomotive sound. Note, the brake squeal sound will deactivate the locomotive sound for a few seconds.
Programming:
You may program several sound features on your Synchro Sound Box.

Synchro Sound Box Diesel Locomotive

Adjustable start voltage for diesel motor sound
Start Voltage:
Place your locomotive on the tracks. Set your throttle, on your
power pack, to the point where your locomotive begins to move. Simultaneously
press and hold the 2 buttons “Programmierung Anfahrspannung” (Program Start
Voltage) until you hear the word PROGRAMMED.
Synchro Sound box - Steam Locomotive:
Steam Sound:
Press both, “Programmierung Dampfloksound” (Program Chuff
Sound), buttons to select one of the Chuff Sounds. Each press will reveal a
different sound.
Adjustable Chuff Rate:
All steam locomotives have different chuff rates. For this
reason, the Synchro Sound Box allows you to synchronize a chuff rate with your
model. To change the chuff rate, adjust your power pack throttle knob until you
hear the desired chuff rate and press the “Programmierung Dampfstoß” (Program
Chuff Rate) to lock in the rate. You may experiment with the chuff rate to
synchronize the sound box with your locomotive.
Bell Tones:
Press both „Programmierung Glocken“ (Program Bells) to listen to the various bell tones.
After completing the programming you will hear the word “programmed.”
Caution:
- Do not attempt to open the Synchro Sound Box. This will void the guarantee.
- Keep the unit away from humidity, moisture and wet conditions.
- Keep the unit in a climate controlled room. Do not place unit under direct sunlight.
- Do not shake or drop the unit. This will void the guarantee.
