D Using a SuperK COMMAND module
Description
A SuperK COMMAND is a multi-input module that connects to the RF driver of a
SELECT system. The module accepts timing and modulation signals from
external applications. These signals are then used to drive and synchronize fast
wavelength switching and amplitude modulation of the output beam from the
AOTF crystal of the SELECT system. When using a COMMAND module, the
system can achieve wavelength switching based on external signal input at
speeds down to 10 microseconds.

COMMAND electrical connectors
All input pins are BNC connectors and include:
•
8 FSK
pins (FSK 1 to 8) – these pins typically connect to a logic signals from
an application of interest. The FSK pins are used to select the AOTF’s
configured wavelength profiles and their respective channels.
•
8 Modulation
pins (MOD 1 to 8) – A modulating signal can also applied to
modulate the emission amplitude. Note that these pins must be pulled high
when the FSK pins and the BLANK pin are used for wavelength or profile
selection.
•
1 Blank
pin – The BLANK ping or blanking pin accepts a logic low or logic
high. The pin is used in combination with the FSK pins to select a wavelength
or profile from the CONTROL configuration. Switching or selection of
wavelengths or profiles is based on truth tables.
