Fast wavelength
switching mode
In fast wavelength switching mode, you can either switch between individual
wavelengths or profiles configured with of up to 8 channels (wavelengths) in
each. To switch or select wavelengths or profiles, a SuperK COMMAND module
is connected to the External RF Driver. The COMMAND has multiple inputs that
accept external signals to drive the selection of either wavelengths or profiles.
The COMMAND module is also capable of modulating the amplitude of the
selected wavelengths from the SELECT. Wavelength switching and amplitude
modulation can be achieved within approximately 10 μs. A description of the
SuperK COMMAND and detailed configuration instructions can be found in
Appendix D .
Wavelength Profiles
Figure 41 shows the configuration page for fast wavelength switching. In the
window, to the right of Profile, are 4 profile buttons. Clicking on each button
displays a new channels page for one of the 4 profiles . Follow the procedures in
Appendix D to configure the profiles for use with a SuperK COMMAND module.
Note: As stated to implement fast wavelength switching mode, a SuperK COM -
MAND module is integrated with the system. Refer to Appendix D for detailed in -
formation.
