Vibration Reduction (VR)
Vibration reduction can be enabled by
selecting
On for Optical VR in the shooting
menu ( 0 232), if the lens supports this
option, or by sliding the lens vibration
reduction switch to
ON , if the lens is
equipped with a vibration reduction switch.
A vibration reduction indicator appears in
the information display when vibration
reduction is on.

Retracting Lenses with Retractable Lens Barrel Buttons
To retract the lens when the camera is not in
use, press and hold the retractable lens
barrel button (
q
) and rotate the zoom ring
to the “L” (lock) position as shown (
w
).
Retract the lens before removing it from the
camera, and be careful not to press the
retractable lens barrel button when
attaching or removing the lens.
