Macro Mode
Macro mode is used for taking pictures of objects as close as 1 cm (0.4 in.). Note
that the flash may be unable to light the entire subject at distances of less than
50 cm (1 ft. 8 in.).
When using

(auto) mode, follow the procedure below. Macro mode can also
be used with some scene modes (
A
39, 40, 41).

(macro mode) on the multi selector.
The macro menu is displayed.

and press the

button.
The macro mode icon (

) is displayed.
If a setting is not applied by pressing the

button
within a few seconds, the selection is cancelled.

Turn the zoom control or the side zoom
control until the zoom position reaches the

glow green.
The camera can focus at distances as close as 1 cm
(0.4 in.) from the lens when

and the zoom indicator glow green (zoom indicator is
positioned near

Autofocus
When using macro mode, the camera focuses continuously until the shutter-release button is
pressed halfway to lock the focus. A sound will be heard while the camera focuses.
