* The typical max. temperature difference between the Niko dimmer switch (TX) and a receiver (RX) should not exceed 40° C.

8. TROUBLESHOOTING
The receiver never responds when I push the Niko dimmer switch
cause
action
The central plate has not been mounted. When only the energy bow is pushed, the generated energy is not
recognized as a push button event
Mount the central plate
The switching module is mounted upside down in the base
Rotate the switching module 180° according to the direction of the arrow on the label (see § Installation)
The Niko dimmer switch is not correctly paired with the receiver or another Niko dimmer switch is paired
with the receiver
Configure the dimmer switch with the mobile app to pair it with the receiver according to the receiver
manual‘s instructions or use the Niko dimmer switch paired with the receiver (see § Configuration). To
optimize the reception of the Bluetooth
®
telegrams, the receiver should permanently be in receive mode
on the selected radio channels or – if this is not possible – periodically for a certain minimum time period
(recommended settings: 30 ms scan period and 23 ms scan interval)
The dimmer switch has been mounted outside the receiver’s radio coverage or is sometimes moved outside
the range
Install the Niko dimmer switch closer to the receiver or use an RF repeater (see § Radio planning guide)
The radio path is being obstructed which attenuates the radio signal
Reposition the Niko dimmer switch or use an RF repeater (see § Radio planning guide, Position)
A jammer or a source of interference is blocking the telegrams from the Niko dimmer switch to the receiver
Reposition the Niko dimmer switch or receiver, remove the interfering device or use an RF repeater (see §
Radio planning guide, Sources of interference)
The Niko dimmer switch is defective
Test the Niko dimmer switch and replace it should it be defective. Troubleshoot with a reference dimmer
switch located next to the potentially defective dimmer switch. Also pair the reference dimmer switch with
the receiver. Both dimmer switches need to be pressed separately.
If the reference dimmer switch can control the receiver, but the potentially defective dimmer switch cannot,
the latter is indeed defective.
Alternatively, if a significant range loss is measured between the reference dimmer switch and the
potentially defective dimmer switch, the latter is likely to be defective. However, a difference of one meter or
less is not critical
The receiver is defective
Test the receiver and replace it should it be defective. Troubleshoot with a reference receiver located next
to the potentially defective receiver. First pair the reference receiver with the dimmer switch and press
the dimmer switch. If the dimmer switch can only control the reference receiver, the potentially defective
receiver is likely to be defective. Before swapping the receiver, ensure that the initial pairing has been done
properly. Repeat the pairing if needed
The receiver not always responds when I push the Niko dimmer switch
cause
action
The receiver is located at the border of the radio coverage area
Install the Niko dimmer switch closer to the receiver or use an RF repeater (see § Radio planning guide)
A jammer or a source of interference is blocking the telegrams from the Niko dimmer switch to the receiver
Reposition the Niko dimmer switch or receiver, remove the interfering device or use an RF repeater
(see § Radio planning guide, Sources of interference)
