NUC – THERMAL CALIBRATION

There are two calibration (NUC – Non Uniform Calibration) methods that can be

selected. M – Manual Mode and A – Automatic Mode.
To differentiate what mode the unit is in, an A – Automatic Mode or M – Manual

Mode and a Shutter icon will be shown in the bottom right of the screen.

To change modes, long press the Brightness, E-Zoom and Image Mode buttons

together.
To calibrate while in M – Manual mode requires the lens cap to be on and a long

press of the Brightness button (if the lens cap is not installed, ghosting will

occur). Alternately, to manually calibrate with the Shutter (lens cap does not

need to be on), short press the E-Zoom and Brightness buttons together.
If A – Automatic mode is selected, the device will periodically (every 5-30

seconds) calibrate itself using the internal Electronic Shutter (this can be heard

clicking). When first powered on, the unit calibrates often, every 1-5 seconds.

This will occur less as the unit warms up and becomes stable.  While in A –

Automatic mode, the unit can be manually calibrated as per M – Manual as well.

HINT:

 Using Automatic Mode is recommended.

CHARGING

If the indicator light is red the battery is low. This will also be shown on the

screen battery indicator. To charge, open the USB port on top of the device and

plug in the supplied cable, then plug the other end into a 5V USB port such as

a mobile phone charger for charging (not supplied). The indicator light will turn

yellow/red when charging and green when fully charged.
